I’m an LCMFT, with a direct, warm, and supportive therapeutic approach. I’m a Contextual Marriage and Family Therapist which means I view people and all of their complexities in a broader context of how they engage in their family, social, ethnic, and cultural systems as well as the relevance of their neurological wiring and developmental profiles.  This approach supports individuals, couples, and families to forge authentic and healthy relationships. I apply my skills and training in couples and family therapy, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), and neurodiversity-affirming therapy to my work with clients.

I’ve worked in several therapeutic settings including residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and private practice.  My areas of expertise include helping couples and families improve communication, recover from addiction and its impact on relationships, and enhance intimacy.  I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy principles and strategies to help clients decrease self-sabotaging behaviors that typically endanger relationships and prevent growth and healthy change.  My work is trauma-informed and I am well versed in the treatment of anxiety and depression utilizing cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and strength-based approaches.  I’m an affirming, culturally competent therapist who values social justice with experience working with LGBTQIA+ and ethnically diverse communities.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.  I also earned my Master of Arts in Couple and Family Therapy at Adler University in Chicago, Illinois.  I’m currently studying for my Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy degree. I’m licensed in Maryland, Washington D.C., Louisiana, and Texas.
