I believe therapy is a truly collaborative effort for healing, and as such, I seek to build an authentic relationship with my clients. I’m dedicated to empowering neurodivergent and neurotypical people to learn how to live by their values instead of feeling like their emotions and thoughts control or overwhelm their lives. Even in the midst of all the pain, there’s a way to feel grounded and connected. The work we do together will likely be challenging, painful at times, and it’s also an opportunity to create real, lasting change.

The contextual and acceptance-based perspective I work from has been profoundly effective with people who find themselves engaging in behaviors that are harmful to themselves or to their quality of life. I’m passionate about working with persons who struggle with emotional regulation, resulting in self-harm behaviors such as cutting, restriction, binging, purging, or difficulty building meaningful relationships. This approach focuses on transforming ineffective behaviors, habits, and core beliefs into more effective ways of living through empathy, authenticity, and acceptance, while also challenging unhelpful patterns. I collaborate with clients to set a pace that respects their lived experiences, with special attention to pacing and communication needs for autistic and neurodivergent clients.

If you are suffering from OCD, I understand how debilitating and life disrupting the experience can be. To help people get through it, I’ve been trained in Inference Based-CBT, which is a new evidence based approach.  I’ve seen I-CBT restore people’s lives.  Combining my base perspective and philosophy of acceptance based work with this very targeted therapy, and exposure when appropriate, you CAN get to the otherside of OCD.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, where I honed my skills in LGBTQIA advocacy, clinical work, and community organizing. My early career in the foster care system and community-based therapy gave me a deep understanding of complex trauma and the resilience of those who experience it.

In 2018, I developed a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) program at a community based therapy clinic, making this powerful, evidence-based therapy accessible to marginalized communities who typically would not have access to this high cost care.  In this process, I completed a training program in “Contextually Focused DBT” which is a modality that combines both DBT and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ) and was developed by Dr. Paul Holmes. This training included a year long academic fellowship program at the University of Chicago for Contextually Focused DBT.
